Program II (A self-designed program of study)
For students whose intellectual interests range beyond the boundaries of an individual department or academic discipline, Program II provides the opportunity to design a customized individual program of study.
Program II students explore issues, problems, and ideas from a variety of intellectual perspectives, often engaging an interdisciplinary or emerging area of knowledge not generally available within a Program I major.
In recent years Program II students have explored such topics as war, gender, and religion in the Middle East; molecular biology and research dynamics; film and human experience; medicine, health policy, and spirituality; ethics; children in American society; and cultural expression through the arts, among many, many others.
