University Announces 'DukeEngage'

In one of the most ambitious efforts of its kind in U.S. higher education, Duke University announced on February 12, 2007, that it had committed an initial amount of $30 million to provide funding and faculty support to all undergraduates who want to apply their classroom learning to addressing societal issues at home and abroad. In addition to tackling real-world problems, the students will develop the valuable skills and self-knowledge that result from an immersive service experience.
